Transformations in digital technology have been growing rapidly, including in the economic and trade sectors, especially in small and medium enterprises (UMKM).

“The progress of digital technology provides many benefits and opens up very broad opportunities for business development, including UMKM, so it needs to be mastered in order to optimize its benefits,” said the Head of the Communication and Information Statistics Agency of Denpasar City, Dr. I.B. Alit Adhi Merta S.STP, M.Si accompanied by the Secretary of the Agency Gde Wirakusuma W., S.Sos during the implementation of the Digital Entrepreneurship Academy (DEA) Program Wednesday (5/4) afternoon.

This DEA program was attended by 82 UMKM players from various sectors in Denpasar City and took place on April 4-5, 2023 at the Bali Province Human Resources Development Hall.

Furthermore, the Head of the Human Resources Development and Research (BPSDMP) of the Ministry of Communication and Information in Yogyakarta, Dr. Christiany Juditha, S.Sos, MA, stated that the Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) program of the Ministry of Communication and Information was held to target the formation of digital talents, as many as 600,000 per year.

“The Ministry of Communication and Information, as the spearhead of digital transformation in Indonesia, in addition to accelerating telecommunications infrastructure, also carries out the function of developing human resources for the beneficiaries of the infrastructure services,” she explained.

The Ministry of Communication and Information hopes that through digital training, the prepared infrastructure can be utilized better and more positively. It is also explained that DEA training in Denpasar City is an effort to support the acceleration of digital transformation focused on UMKM or startup entrepreneurs.

“Currently, Indonesia’s GDP is supported by digital entrepreneurs by 6% through e-commerce, so the Ministry of Communication and Information facilitates and invites participants to enter the digital realm openly and for free,” she added.
