DENPASAR – The Head of Communication, Information and Statistics Agency (Diskominfos) of Bali Province, Gede Pramana, together with the Head of Forestry and Environmental Agency (Kadis KLH) of Bali Province, I Made Teja representing the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, handed over the Smart Dashboard of Tahura Bali in Wantilan Taman Hutan Raya Ngurah Rai Denpasar on Thursday (2/3). The handover of the Smart Dashboard to support the process and information in the maintenance of the Tahura Bali mangrove forest is a follow-up from the audience of PT. Telkomsel with Governor Koster on February 10, 2023.

Governor Koster, in his speech read by Kadis KLH, expressed appreciation for PT. Telkomsel’s support in efforts to preserve the environment, especially the mangrove forest in Tahura Ngurah Rai, through the installation of IoT (Internet of Things) digitalization which is very useful in the preservation of mangroves especially in Bali.

“The Bali Provincial Government continues to expand the mangrove planting area and improve and preserve mangrove forests, such as replanting mangrove forests, regulating coastal spatial planning, enforcing forestry violations, and cleaning up mangroves from plastic waste pollution that disrupts the growth and health of mangroves,” said Made Teja.

It is said that the digitalization of mangrove forest protection and monitoring is carried out through the installation of Smart Agriculture which serves to measure the average value of water parameters in mangrove ecosystem where data can be digitally accessed via smartphones, laptops or tablets. In addition, PT. Telkomsel also provided AR/VR technology as a virtual tourism form that can be enjoyed by local and global communities and can be used in the implementation of tourism economy in Bali.

Meanwhile, Kadis Kominfos Bali Gede Pramana conveyed that the digitalization of Ngurah Rai Forest Park ecosystem is very appropriate with the vision of the Bali Provincial Government “Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali” through the Planned Comprehensive Development Pattern towards the New Era of Bali. Considering that one of the Governor of Bali’s priority programs is to realize Bali Smart Island through digitalization in all fields. “As we all know, the mangrove forest in this mangrove area is very beneficial in maintaining the ecosystem of the coastal area and this has been developed by Telkomsel with its IoT, the Internet of Things,” said Gede Pramana.

He also hopes that Telkomsel not only supports IoT in mangrove conservation and monitoring but also in supporting organic farming systems in Bali.

Also present at the event were Vice President Area Account Management of PT. Telkomsel, Samuel Pasaribu and GM Enterprise Account Management East Area of PT. Telkomsel, Anka Djatmika. (kmb/beritadaribali)
