DENPASAR, – In order to disseminate and socialize Digital Literacy in Bali Province, the Department of Communication, Information and Statistics (Diskominfos) of Bali Province through the Information and Public Communication Division held the Digital Literacy Short Video Competition 2023.

The competition, with the theme “Digital Literacy Short Video Competition: Smart on Social Media” is specifically focused on digital ethic education or digital ethics. This includes preventing the spread of hoaxes, preventing hate speech and defamation, preventing defamation of character, being wary of online extortion and fraud, preventing the spread of online gambling, as well as preventing the spread of pornography.

The Head of the Information and Public Communication Division as the Technical Implementation Officer, Anak Agung Ngurah Bagus Aryana, explained that this competition is intended for the general public in Bali. Registration will start from March to May 31, 2023. For the assessment, the jury team consists of elements from the Bali Provincial Government, Digital Literacy Practitioners, Academics, Art Practitioners and Social Media Activists.

Aryana hopes that the competition will run smoothly and be followed by many participants because the more people who participate in this competition, the more help it provides in socializing Digital Literacy to the community. “In addition to having to search for information about Digital Literacy for competition purposes, their own work also acts as a means of communication to the community, especially social media users. Considering that the competition entries will be circulated on Diskominfos Bali’s social media,” said Aryana.

Furthermore, the former official in the Bali Development Planning Agency added that the short video competition held for the first time will prepare attractive prizes such as cash, trophies and certificates as well as favorite prizes for participants with the most accumulated likes, viewers and shares on Diskominfos Bali’s YouTube channel. “The more likes, viewers and shares accumulated, the greater the chance of winning as the favorite champion. From our side as the organizer, it also means that the more a competition entry is watched, the more the public is exposed to literacy,” he concluded.
