In late December 2022, Bali Governor I Wayan Koster inaugurated the Pine Forest Glagalinggah Ecotourism, located in Kintamani Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency.
The forest is a popular destination for travelers who appreciate eco-friendly tourism with local wisdom in preservation.
The Rainwater Friendly Village and Nature Tourism program is an initiative for sustainable development by PT Tirta Investama – Mambal Factory (AQUA Mambal), in collaboration with SATIN (Sahabat Timur Indonesia) since 2021. Its activity consists of conservation of water resources, biodiversity, and nature tourism.
Jo Kumala Dewi, M.Sc., Director of Environmental Partnership from the Directorate General of Social Forestry Partnership and Environmental Affairs, Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia said that private sector contributions towards accelerating social forestry through CSR programs are essential.
“The practices at Pine Forest Glagalinggah can serve as a model for other companies to develop similar initiatives elsewhere. I also appreciate the implementation of a digital ticketing system, which makes it easier to monitor and increases transparency and accuracy,” Jo added.
Governor Bali I Wayan Koster, in his speech read by Head of Bali Province Environmental Agency, I Made Teja, said that the people of Bali must understand, appreciate, apply, and implement Bali’s local wisdom values of Sad Kerthi in the new Bali era, based on the principles of Community Life Arrangement in managing social forestry.
