Putu Winastra, the Chairman of the Regional Board of the Association of The Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (Asita) in Bali, proposes the opening of three direct flight routes from China to Bali.
“I met with Minister Sandiaga on January 2, and we encouraged the opening of three direct flights from Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing to Bali,” he said on Wednesday (18/1/2022).
According to him, these three routes were the main entry point for Chinese tourists to Bali prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Asita has also held a meeting with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and received news that Sandiaga Uno is ready and will soon meet with Transportation Minister Budi Karya to obtain permission for the three proposed routes.
“That’s our proposal, and we hope that January 18 will be the highlight of what will happen in the future,” he said.
As for the pandemic situation in China, he mentioned that the virus variant currently spreading in Beijing in January 2023 is starting to decline.
“I have had a virtual meeting with the Indonesian embassy in Beijing, as well as the consulates general in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. They conveyed that the variant circulating in Beijing has begun to decline,” he said.
